Your shop provides a fast and hassle-free way your business can start selling online.
No technical experience is required and you can literally add your first item in a minute.
Your shop is also connected to the marketplace and, any items you add, are automatically displayed there (you can find out more about the marketplace and how to use it here). Every member has access to the marketplace and it allows you to find goods/services from the businesses around yours, supporting your local community.
1: What can I sell?
Your shop is flexible and you can sell almost anything. From pens and paper to accountancy, building or consulting services.
If your business sells it you can list it.
Of course, common sense rules apply here and we have to mention it obviously can’t be anything illegal or questionable.
2: I offer services, not products, where can I find pictures to illustrate what I offer?
Images really do speak a 1000 words and not listing a photo for your product makes it, literally, less visible. But how can you find a photo to illustrate ‘web development’ or ‘accountancy services’ without paying for stock images?
3: Can people outside of ehuhb buy from my shop?
Visitors to your profile who are not members of ehuhb can make enquiries on your products, but they can’t buy.
4: What if I don’t want to sell, just list my services/goods?
If you’d rather not sell your products through ehuhb that’s fine too. You can add a product to receive enquiries only. This allows you to list your items and handle the payment yourself.
How to add items to your shop
1: Link your PayPal account (Skip this step if you only want to receive enquiries).
In order to accept payments, you need to link your PayPal account to ehuhb. You’ll only need to do this once.
First, click the main menu.
Then, click on the settings link.
After this, click the PayPal link.
Then all you need to do is enter your Paypal address and then click the Authorise Access button.
A wizard will redirect you to Paypal and ask your permission to allow ehuhb to make payments to your account. Once done, you’re ready to list your first item for sale.
2: Add your first product
There are multiple ways you can access your shop to add items. However, in this guide, we’ll cover the most direct way; by clicking the main menu.
Next, click the small arrow to the right of the My Shop link.
Then click the Add/Edit Items link.
Next click on the New Item button to load the item editing popup.
Using this popup you’ll be able to add all of your product information including the name, description, images, and price.
Towards the bottom of the popup is a checkbox labeled Enquiry Only. Ticking this will disable the payment options and list the product to receive enquiries only. This option will be permanently checked if you have not yet linked your PayPal account to ehuhb.
When adding a product you can access inline-help. Anytime you see a question mark in a blue circle simple hover over this to receive help and tips.
Once you’ve finished adding your item details click Save and you’re done!
3: Managing enquiries and orders
When you receive orders and enquiries these are automatically logged in your shop.
You can use the order and enquiry management tools to:
- Track order/enquiry process from start to finish
- Log notes against each order/enquiry as you contact your client or progress the order
- Update the status so you can easy tell which orders/enquiries are on-going and which are finished or new
Accesing your orders and enquiries both follow a similar process, to begin with click the main menu.
Next click the My Shop link.
Your Shop Statistics page will load. This provides an overview of your recent orders and enquiries for the last two months and shows your latest orders.
Just beneath the header is a tabbed menu showing: Shop Statistics, My Items, Orders & Enquiries
Because editing both orders and enquiries follow a very similar process we’ll only look at editing your enquiries in this guide.
Quick note: updating your orders follows the same process as below except click on the Orders menu tab to begin.
Begin by clicking the Enquiries link in the tabbed menu.
On the left-hand side of this page are the filters; which you can use to quickly find enquiries by status and date.
The the right is a list of your latest enquiries. To edit and enquiry click the View Details button.
This loads a popup showing the full details of the enquiry. Using this popup you can track the enquiry from start to finish by adding time-stamped notes and updating the status as the enquiry progresses.
Once you’ve finished making changes don’t forget to click the Update button
4: You’re done
Congratulations! You’ve just setup your shop and listed your first item. If you’re items aren’t listed in the market place yet, please don’t worry. It can take up to an hour for the search engine to find and index your shop.
In our next guide we’ll look at using the referral management system. To continue reading click here.
